National Suicide

During recent years, Iran has been working to produce nuclear a nuclear reactor.  The administrations of both parties have tried to stop their nuclear program because the same nuclear fuel can be used to produce the atomic bomb.  They have used strong language and have taken some actions to stop their efforts. Freezing assets, discontinuing of trade, etc. Other countries such as China, Russia, and North Korea have supplied them with equipment and materials to assist in their efforts to build reactors that will produce electricity.


My position was to allow them to build their nuclear reactors and I they build the big bombs, the policy of the United States would one of quick nuclear reaction on several of the major cities in Iran If any nuclear bombs  missiles  were launch towards Israel. Which as I understand was USA policy against the Soviet Union during the cold war years.  That should deter any foolish actions by Iran and keep Israel safe.


I have changed my thinking on this matter.  I believe that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would rain nuclear bombs on Israel and be happy even if the United States responded with nuclear retaliation  against Iran.  To say it another way.  If Ahmadinejad could completely destroy Israel, he would do it regardless of the consequences to Iran or the rest of the world.
