Junk Mail

There is hardly a day that goes by that I don't receive a handful of junk mail. Most comes from banks with credit card offers. All of them contain a postage paid envelope to mail back the credit card application or a request for further information on other products. I wonder what would happen if everyone in the country mailed back the postage paid envelope empty each day. I can imagine the volumes of mail that would be received. If there were something put in the envelope, Every envelope would have to be opened. There would also be a large postage cost associated with a truck load of postage paid envelops. Maybe they would think twice before mailing out so much junk.

The New Weapon

The United States Military started working on a new weapon. They hope to get this developed before the Moslem's militants get it. It has been hailed as the greatest weapon for knocking small and large jet planes out of the sky. Farmers, behavioral psychologist, and animal taxologist are involved with military scientist in this top secret project. It is such a simple concept one wonders why it has taken so long for someone to come up with this idea. Simply, it is training birds to fly into the path of jet airplane. The taxologist are needed to determine the best bird species with the required endurance, the ability to be easily trained, and fast reproduction, for it will require many birds. There will be a number of bird farmers employed raising the fowl. And then it will require the best behavioral psychologist to train these flying weapons. When the weapon is perfected, trained birds will be released to fly into the path of an enemy jet plane that is close, and then for them to seek out and fly into the intake of the jet engine. Birds will need to be transported to attack planes that are that are of considerable distance away. This has been kept top secret for a considerable amount of time, but word leaked out recently and animal activists are preparing plans to protest in spite of the precedent of trained seals, dolphins, and water turtles that have been used for years in destroying ships and submarines.
Biologist are planning work for gene splicing to make the supper bird that would be able identify enemy planes from a long distance.

Those who want to burn the American flag should be required to get a permit to build a fire. A permit could be issued to have a small fire in their back yard out of view of the public in a container that would prevent any possibility of the fire from spreading. A permit could be refused in time of high fire danger. Those who burn the flag without a fire permit then could be arrested.

Sowing and Reaping

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7

Fear not to do good, my sons, for whatsoever ye sow, that shall ye also reap; therefore, if ye sow good ye shall also reap good for your reward. D & C 6:33

If you don't like what you are reaping, change what you are sowing.

If you are reaping bad, you must be sowing bad

When things get as bad as they can get, then things start getting better

What is the Sequence of Resession, Depresion, and Recovery

After a forest fire there is a natural sequence of reforestation. The has always been a sequence and it has been well documentented. It starts with the growth of perennials and shrubs. Then quaking aspens, and then conifers. This may take hundreds of years. There is the same sequence with a recessions. People began loosing jobs. The loss of jobs results in the loss of buying power. Which starts a cycle of more job loss. There are some jobs for the most part are not lost at the same intensity as jobs that deals with anything associated with luxury. It goes to point where only the people working in the bare essentials keep their jobs. Job loss is finished and then the economy starts to come back. As more jobs are available which increase more purchasing powers which creates more jobs. etc.

Getting Back to Work

It will be hard to get people back to work following the plan of Obama. People will not get back to work very fast on building infrastructure because it takes months and maybe several years to design new bridges, schools, highways, etc. It could take months for the government gives a tax rebate. It takes time to get the checks printed and mailed out. A huge tax break would get money into the hands of the people in the next pay period starting the day that the tax break was authorized. If there were no income taxes withheld for one, two, or three days or even for one pay check, people would start buying, and more would have to go to work to provide the products being purchased. Let the consumer spend the money on what he/she wants instead of the government spending the money on what the government wants. That or course, would require the borrowing of a lot of money.

Obama and the Hamaus

Obama has repeatedly said, "There is only one president at a time." when asked about the Israel war. But when he speaks of the economy, he has plans and a large staff of people working on it. When he talks about energy independence, has people working on that. He is going to be sworn in as president of the United States on January 21. What is he going to say then about foreign policy. Is he going to put presure on Israel for them to withdraw from the Gaza strip? It seems to me he can be very protective of Israel and give them encouragement and support. He surely would not say to the Hamas, "Just hang in until I am president."
