Suppose that our stake President announce that in five years there would be terrible destruction unless the wicked in the stake repented. Suppose that they didn't. Then in five years there was fire and earth quakes that destroyed the wicked.
The following Sunday everyone went to church except for a few that were ill or those that had to work on Sunday. Which would not be very many people. There would be no need for policemen. All businesses would be closed. There was 98% attendance. That would continues for years. How long would it take for the people to become wicked?
Please comment.

A Strange Thing Happened At Church
This morning Carol and I approached the door by the relief
society room to find a lot of leaves by the door. I put my iPad down and we picked up the door
mat dumped the leaves on the nearby grass. Carol went on into the Relief Society
room. I picked up my iPad. I went to the member’s closet where the
brooms are kept. I went back to the
relief society door to sweep the leaves away.
I met Ken Tuttle there. I handed
him my I pad and began sweeping. I
turned around to pick up my iPad, but it wasn’t there. I put the broom away and retraced my steps
several time to see if I put my iPad down.
I gave up and assumed that some one picked it and gave it to
a member of the bishopric. I went into
priesthood meeting, and soon as the person conducting asked if there were and
more business, I raised my hand and told them that I couldn’t find my
iPad. Ken kept in and brought it to the chapel. When he heard me, he saw it on the bench at
his side. He picked it up and said, “is
this it” I was glad to see it. Another person said, “ask and ye shall
receive.”

Helaman 13:27 - 28
This scripture, in my
opinion, has been fulfilled.
27 But behold, if a man
[it could be anyone, or there could be many.] shall come among you and shall say: Do this, [There innumerable things that one could do.] and there is no iniquity; do that and ye shall
not suffer; yea, he will say: Walk after the pride of your own hearts; yea,
walk after the pride of your eyes, and do whatsoever your heart desireth—and if
a man shall come among you and say this, ye will receive him, and say that he
is a prophet.[False prophet. You will believe what he has to say.]
28 Yea, ye will lift him up, [You will hold him in high esteem.] and ye will give
unto him of your substance; [You will pay for costly
tickets to watch him perform. This may have reference to celebrities that you
go to their concerts or attended the sport events.] ye will give unto him of your gold, [ditto] and of your silver, [ditto]
and ye will clothe him with costly apparel; [The
clothing worn by celebrities at televised events are extremlly costly.] and
because he speaketh flattering words [many make their opinions
know to TV.] unto you, and he saith that all is well, then ye will not
find fault with him.

OutBack
17 October 2014
Early in June of this year, I was given a $25.00 gift certificate for the Outback restaurant.
Having never eaten there before and I always like to try eating at a new restaurant. We were in Orem Utah today so we stopped there for lunch. As soon as we walked through the door Carol commented on how dark it was. I replied in agreement. When it is dark it is hard to see how well the meat is cooked. Carol order a couple of tacos and I ordered a hamburger and the waiter asked if I wanted cheese, and bacon with that. I said yes to both questions. Fries came with each order. He also asked if I wanted it well done, medium, medium rare, or rare. I asked for medium rare.
The atmosphere was pleasing and pleasant. Nice photos on the walls represent the outback of Australia. After an acceptable wait, our lunch was served. The hamburger was thick. I could not open my mouth wide enough to eat it, so I started with big nibbles. When I got to the meat, I wonder what rare would be. I ate most of it and some of the fries. There was just to much to eat.
The burger would have been better if there was more tomato, sauce, onions, and lettuce. I like the hamburger from In and Out just a little to the north. Service was good. The waiter checked with us often to see how things were.
We will not go back. Carol like hers better than I liked mine. One should not judge all the other items on the menu based on eating one menu meal.

Dry Tree
THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE
We are studying Isaiah in Sunday school. I studied the wrong lesson and came across the
following verse in the 56 book of Isaiah.
“Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the
LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people:
neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.” Isaiah 56:3
When I read that I was most interested in what is meant by “dry tree” I
read five or six versions of the bible online and found that dry tree meant
being unable to have children.
The verse in the New and Living Translation
of the Bible explains dry tree completely.
“Don’t let foreigners who
commit themselves to the LORD say, ‘The LORD will never let me be part of his
people.’ And don’t let the eunuchs say, ‘I’m
a dried-up tree with no children and no future.’ ”
It is obvious that the eunuch is unable to produce
children. Having no children, there
would be no one to take care of them in their old age, which would have an
impact on them in their old age. Now
take that a little further. The eunuch
is a man that was born sterile or who has surgically made sterile. He can have no
children. There are many couples that are unable to have children. There are also many men and women for some
reason or other chose not to get married.
What this is really saying is that a man or woman who cannot produce
children who received all of the temple ordinances in this life will be able to
have children in the Millennium.
In connection with this, we find in the book of Malachi it
says that after a burning there will be, “neither root nor branch”. The roots
are the progenitors and branches are the children
I believe those righteous people that are unable to have
children in this life, will be able to have children in the Millennium.
